Building a Social LibrarySome people at Pierce County have taken the plunge into the Social Web and are trying to take the library with them. Here's my tiled rendition of where we've gone so far. PCLS now has a wiki, blogs, podcasts, and pages on Flickr and MySpace.

We hop eyou have enjoyed seeing the Social Web in class and encourage you to explore and participate beyond the class. Check back here and leave us a comment or two on this blog posting. Tell us what you thought, what you found, and leave your first name and the URL of your new personal page. That way, your classmates can visit and you can see what they've created, too!

It was really neat to take a look at some of your personal pages created last Friday at the training session. I have to admit that they can be very addictive once you figure out how it all works and what the capabilities are. Even though I chose to do a Flickr page on Friday I have since created a LibraryThing page as well. Now if only I had the time to maintain all my sites!

Steve and Susan, thank you for the very informative class! I have been hearing quite a bit about social web literacy the last few years and know that as information professionals this is an area we need to educate ourselves on. Your class really drove that point home and highlighted what people are interested in now. Thanks, for providing us all the links to go back and explore on our own.

Sorry, I forgot to sign my post! I am so used to it happening automatically with my UW Forums that I forgot this was set to anonymous.
